Information Background

Information, Communication and Technology and research are major components in community development. ICT can sustain or deepen the process of development within a community and for this reason there is an urgent need to offer scale up training in ICT and do developmental and socio-economic research.

The main aim of the SICC program is to provide ICT training for development and to carry out research, documentaries, documentation and dissemination of information thus publicizing specific aspects of cultural practices, which promote negative social and health trends, and on positive practices which need to be retained. This program also provides information on various socio-health challenges issues to empower the socially and economically marginalized members of the community to participate in various economic and development activities. The SICC program also intends to have a community based radio frequency.

The program also intends to have a community resource center and a community library
